Gerry was a fanciers fancier, always willing to support local birdkeepers to help them improve their studs.

He was Secretary of the Lancashire YCC for many years, and a strong supporter of many other clubs.

Sadly, Yorkie breeding in the Greater Manchester area has suffered greatly without Gerry, which just goes to show how much unsung work he undertook, behind the scenes.

He is pictured judging a couple of 'stinkers' at the National Exhibition in 1972. They've come a long way since then!
